Latin American Concept Comes to Historic Building

Construction is going well on the new Latin American inspired restaurant in
Wilmette.  Slated to open in June 2008, the restaurant will bring Latin American
flavors into a casual but energized atmosphere.

The restaurant will open in the historic depot building after an addition is added
that includes a new kitchen, restrooms and storage.  You can watch the progress
of construction and get updates on our
blog.

Frequently Asked Questions

The owners, Rob and Ann Garrison, have had a lot of questions about their new
restaurant in Wilmette.  Here are the answers to the most frequently asked.

When will Depot Nuevo open?
The construction is going great!  We are anticipating that it will open in early
summer.

What will be on the menu?
We are still working on the menu.  However, we know that it will highlight some of
the many vibrant flavors in Latin America.  You can expect that we will serve some
favorites such as guacamole, chips and salsa, and flank steak.  However, we have
a few surprises in store for our customers too!

Will you have tapas?
Our menu structure will not be tapas or small plates.  That is, we will have a
standard menu structure of appetizers, entrees and desserts.

What about a kids' menu?
Children who come to Depot Nuevo will have their own food and drink menu.

What about libations?
Oh yes, there will be plenty to quench your thirst at Depot Nuevo.  There will be a
full bar!  And yes, we will have margaritas and mojitos!

Will there be outdoor dining?
One of the biggest assets of the building is the big wrap around porch.  Check it
out on the photo on the top of this page.   You can bet when the weather is nice
during the late spring, summer and early fall, our customers will enjoy dining on
our porch.

Will you be open for lunch and dinner?
We will begin serving dinner seven days a week when we open.  We expect to be
serving lunch Monday through Friday beginning a month or two after opening.
We're looking for
enthusiastic
applicants for full
time and part time
employment.  We
are looking for both
summer and year
'round help.
